Description

The precious gift wrapping paper is produced with handmade daphne paper, which is screen printed with the big flower print by hand. It is made in a family-run factory on the edge of the Kathmandu Valley. We develop the designs ourselves with the employees on site.

The art of making paper with daphne comes from Tibet, where the Buddhist prayer texts were originally written on such long lasting paper. With the flight of the Dalai Lama to India, this centuries-old craftsmanship fell into oblivion. In Nepal, Sherpas from Tibet have revived this craft and make beautiful products from it according to our design specifications.
